Enjoy a six-course seasonal Persian feast in the beautiful setting of The Talbot Inn - a traditional yet stylish coaching inn located in the historic village of Mells in the Somerset countryside. On 24th May, guests are invited to gather for an intimate evening celebrating the flavours, stories, and gentle rituals of Persian food.

Expect dishes crafted with care, patience, and intention, each one rooted in heritage and prepared with the freshest ingredients of the season. Throughout the night, Persian music softly fills the room, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where conversations unfold naturally and strangers often become friends by the end of the evening.

You’ll hear the stories behind the dishes, taste flavours you may not have tried before, and feel the quiet magic of Persian hospitality woven into every detail. The evening begins with a homemade cocktail, and the venue offers a thoughtful selection of drinks should you wish to enjoy more.

• Welcome cocktail made with home-made mint and quince syrup, musk willow, chia seeds and vodka

• Persian frittata canapé with fresh herbs, barberries, wild-garlic sauce and a pinch of volcanic black salt

• Grilled aubergine with aromatic herbs, walnut and natural whey sauce with Lavash bread

• Long-grain Persian saffron rice with sautéed barberries

• Sweet and sour stew of quince, plum and free-range chicken simmered slowly to perfection

• Autumnal Persian quince dessert with strained yoghurt and chocolate

• Cardamom tea served with handmade date and cocoa petits fours
